The Cuts Like a Knife album became a huge commercial success in the United States and Canada. Three singles from the album, “Straight From The Heart”, “Cuts Like a Knife” and “This Time” helped launch Adams into mainstream popularity. It is regarded as one of Adams’s finest albums. After five months on the Cuts Like a Knife tour Adams had performed over 100 dates in Canada and the USA. He later went to Europe for a six week tour and then on to Japan. At this point he had been on the road 283 days.
