The Aerosmith Nine Lives World Tour promoted their 1997 album release “Nine Lives”. The album peaked at number one on the Billboard 200. One of the albums singles, “Pink”, won a Grammy Award for best rock performance by a duo or group with vocal. The Nine Lives tour ran from May 1997 to July 1999. A standard show on the Nine Lives Tour consisted of 24 tracks and 2 and a half hour stage time. Several dates along the tour cancelled/rescheduled, singer Steven Tyler and drummer Joey Kramer were recovering from serious injuries that occurred on separate occasions. Steven Tyler suffered cruciate ligament injury after dropping the microphone stand on his knee. Joey Kramer suffered second degree burns from a freak accident at a gas station.
